I had the opportunity to intern at WAVY-TV 10 and FOX43 in Portsmouth, Virginia for The Hampton Roads Show (THRS). THRS is a localized lifestyle show that highlights businesses, places and people in Hampton Roads. This internship experience lasted a little over three months and was a great way for me to understand the difference between the entertainment and news side of television.

Historic Summer Housing Series

During my time at WAVY-TV 10 I was a production assistant for a new summer segment for the Hampton Roads Show: The Historic Summer Housing Series. I was responsible for finding locations, scheduling shoots, logging and editing the final piece. The two packages can be found below:

This package was first featured on the Hampton Roads Show on WAVY-TV 10. It tells the story of Portsmouth's Hill House, a home that was abandoned and later restored by the Portsmouth Historical Society.

This video displays the Herbert House, which is in Hampton, VA. It was first aired on The Hampton Roads Show on WAVY-TV 10. AVID NewsCutter was used in the editing of this video.
